One of the Hardest Things in Business

One of the hardest things in business is figuring out how to get the goal post to stop moving. Especially in this day and age of social media and comparing yourself to others online... This is your friendly reminder to STOP moving your goal post! You're almost guaranteed to burn yourself out and feel like you can never succeed or get anywhere in your business.

Enough will never be enough.

Don't get me wrong, you can absolutely create big goals but as an enneagram 3 I know how easy it is to hit one goal...and not even realize it. And keep striving for more and more and more...So what can we do? Appreciate all your wins, big or small, and let yourself feel good about the success you've already created! (speaking to myself here πŸ˜‚)

Look, as entrepreneurs we have tons of ideas and it's easy to want to constantly create new offers, programs etc. But sometimes the best thing that you can do for your business and is take a step back, figure out what the main thing is that you do and that you do really, really well and just dive headfirst into that. Instead of trying to create the next best thing and move that goalpost again, let's just go back to the basics. It's gotten you this far after all!

Obviously, you might have to change your marketing, you might have to change or tweak the offer a little bit based off of the economy and what people want right now. But if you continue to look at the next new thing, you're going to miss out on where you could be serving your team, your people, your employees, your clients, right now.

As an example, a couple of months ago I had an opportunity to buy a business that I really, really liked and it ended up falling through for multiple different reasons. But now looking back, I'm glad that it didn't work out because I'm able to focus on my tried and true offers and methods, and it's very much shown that I can continue to grow the business with what I already have.

It’s always good to set goals, learn, grow, expand our business, etc. But ESPECIALLY in the online business world of hustle culture, I think we’d do well to slow down a bit and celebrate where we are right now. Keep showing up as yourself, improve and refine what you’re already doing and do it REALLY well! You got this!
